Crime & Punishment is an improvised performance piece in which we create a dialogue between Dostoevsky's novel and theoretical perspectives about punishment, exclusion, guilt and transgression to question our own artistic choices. During it, we (re)negotiate the rules while the action develops and time goes by, amplifying the position of who makes the mistake, who fails, who loses the game and who steals the act.
Using the idea of a game between the individual and the system as a dispositive, we reflect not only about Dostoevsky’s novel, but mostly on the relationships being established during the performative event and our own creative process. We just need two microphones and two players to start the game. Are you ready to play with us? Though this performance doesn’t demand audience participation, we invite you to take part of it, creating the performance with us in real time.
